Fencing in Oxfordshire.
South Oxfordshire sits at the top of our Basingstoke base's radius, and the work is mostly on the newer developments around Didcot and the villages between there and the Downs. Regular plots, straight boundaries and clear access mean the per-metre rate here is among the lowest we quote — the trade-off is that the drive time puts the optional survey a band higher than it would be closer in.
What the ground here does to a fence
Greensand and gault clay across the Vale, with chalk as you climb towards the Downs. The clay holds water in winter, which is the single biggest reason timber posts fail early here.

Oxfordshire prices, per metre fitted.
Supply and installation, VAT included, for a standard replacement on clear ground. These are the same figures our estimator uses — updated August 2026.
Worked example
18 m of 6 ft closeboard with concrete posts and gravel boards, standard access, clear boundary — £2,600–£3,600 fitted.
Taking the old fence away is an optional extra you choose on the estimate form — it's priced separately and isn't in the figures above. Minimum job £1,200.
